Rating methodology

How five different games become one ordered list.

Our 10-point score is an editorial comparison, not a mathematical copy of Google Play stars.

1. Play feel

We look at whether the core interaction is readable, responsive, and satisfying. The exact standard changes by genre: precision matters in Tomb of the Mask, while flow and low-friction control matter more in Alto's Odyssey.

2. Lasting value

This covers meaningful variety, progression, modes, and reasons to return. More content is not automatically better. Repetition, aggressive interruption, or slow progression can weaken a large game.

3. Presentation

Art, sound, interface clarity, performance, and tonal consistency sit here. A coherent style earns more than visual noise. Accessibility features and understandable onboarding also influence this category.

4. Player sentiment

We read recent feedback for recurring patterns rather than quoting one angry or enthusiastic review as fact. Advertising pressure, crashes, lost progress, and control issues matter when they appear consistently. We show store ratings separately because they change over time.

Tie-breaking

When scores are close, we prefer the game with broader appeal and fewer caveats. That is why Tomb of the Mask edges Hungry Dragon: both are strong action choices, but the maze game's immediate controls make its recommendation easier to explain.
